Ten years of experience in the field

Rete Felina was founded in 2026 from “I Felini di Puglia”, the pilot project launched in 2016, to bring its results to other provinces.

The project's milestones

Rete Felina builds on the experience of the pilot project “I Felini di Puglia”, conceived and launched in 2016 by Mariagrazia Distante.

2026

Rete Felina

Animal Law Italia gathers ten years of experience from “I Felini di Puglia” and relaunches it as a legal protection project.

2021

Expansion into Calabria

The pilot project moves beyond Puglia and reaches Lamezia Terme (CZ).

First official recognition

Four municipalities in the province of Brindisi (the provincial capital, Ceglie Messapica, Francavilla Fontana and San Vito dei Normanni) and two in the province of Bari (Putignano and Alberobello) adopt a council resolution recognising the project. Two more join in the following years.

2020

First CatPlanters in two municipalities

The first CatPlanters arrive in Brindisi and Latiano (BR): street furniture planters that double as feeding stations or litter areas for free-roaming cats.

2016
